21st Postgraduate Course and August Board Meeting
Our Chapter's Postgraduate Course which commenced on August 10, 2018 at CSI Stadia, Dagupan City, was a success. Everything took place smoothly as planned, thanks to the help and support of the chapter officers, from preparation to culmination.
It was a five-month long preparation which started with giving invitation letters to drug companies who were interested in joining. This is the main job of our postgraduate chairman, Dr. Rodolfo T. Rafael, with the help of chapter officers: Dr. Jovito Rivera, Dr. Leonardo Guerrero, Dr. Marissa Fernandez, Dr. Barbara Yap, and Dr. Dick Ong. After the program has been filled, submission of the name of speaker, CV and photocopy of speaker's PRC ID, title and objective of topic were all collected and submitted to PRC together with several other important documents. Then we waited for PRC's and PAFP's review on the number of CPD units to be allotted. While waiting, a few of the officers went around entire Pangasinan to invite and entice doctors and nurses to pre register. At the same time, venue reservation was done, individual assignments/tasks were given.
We are very lucky the event took place before Dagupan City became flooded again.
Our board meeting for the month of August also place at the same place and date. We were able to talk about upcoming projects before the last lecturer arrived.

Western Pangasinan and Mangrove Park
August 2, 2018 was the day we visited doctors of Western Pangasinan hopping from one RHU or community hospital to another. We started the day at 6:00AM with the hope that no heavy rain, no floods will come our way that day. We aimed to cover more doctors than we did last year and yes, we were able to.
Dr. Eleanita Rivera, Medical Director of Alaminos Doctors Hospital
with Dr. Erlita Rosario, Resident Physician
Dr. Maribel Lazo, MHO of RHU Mabini, Pangasinan
Dr. Marillie Guiang of Burgos Pangasinan
Dr. Ma. Elena Orlino, MHO of Bani, Pangasinan
Dr. Saniata Fernandez of CM San Juan PCF-Infirmary
Dr. Genevieve Rivera, Bolinao Community Hospital Chief
with her husband Dr. Jovito Rivera
Dr. Grace Catambing of CH Medical Surgical Clinic, Alaminos
As usual some doctors we visited were not around so we just left invitation programs and invited nurses in their clinics.
We also visited the Mangrove project of PAFP Pangasinan Chapter late in the afternoon. Dra. Maglonzo challenged the officers present during the module on July 19 to come up with an entry for the Pag Asa Award of PAFP. And since the deadline of submission of entries was moved to a later date, she asked us to come up with one when she heard of the upcoming Postgraduate Course. It was a challenge we cannot take for granted so the officers decided to submit the mangrove project as an entry. The following are some pictures taken that day. The place has changed a lot. So beautiful. We went home very tired but with task accomplished. It was 6:30PM when we started to go home.
